The Transport Engineer (32-40h per week) will be based in Oostrum and is working in the field of maintaining and improving efficient international transport logistics processes and networks in the EMEA area. Transport/Carrier management is closely linked to the Control Tower, which provides end-to-end transport and supply chain services to international customers. The Transport Engineer is part of the (site) transportation/ carrier management team and reports to the Procurement & Transportation Manager.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:

• Analyzing and optimizing transport flows and lead times
• Carrier performance management and reporting
• Carrying out improvement projects with carriers
• Maintenance of tariff tables, configuration, and carrier setup in TMS
• Assess and implement transport solutions of (potential) new carriers and customers
• Describing and Implementing operational procedures of new transport processes
• Performing costs and benchmark analyses
• Supporting RFQs for existing or new customers
• Input business reviews customers/carriers

Here is some of what you’ll need:

• Bachelor/master’s degree in related field such as Supply Chain Management, Transport, Logistics.
• Relevant work experience in logistics and transport mgt.
• Knowledge of all modalities, road-air-sea, is a preferred advantage.
• Experienced with Transport Management Systems.
• Knowledge of analyzing and sourcing carriers is welcome.
• Strong command of the English and preferably Dutch language
• Very proficient with Microsoft Office: specifically, Excel
• Result-oriented, team player, analytical, with a good sense of initiative.
